Purpose

This site has been created to provide a visual history of the experiences of “Charlie” Company, The Basic School (TBS) 3-70 (the third class to graduate from TBS in 1970).  We represent a group of young men who from a variety of mechanisms (Annapolis, OCS, PLC, NROTC) had been commissioned in the United States Marine Corps during 1969.

We started training in September of 1969, and graduated from TBS in February 1970.  From there some went to flight training, some to Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) training, and some directly to the Fleet Marine Force.  Some percentage then went to Vietnam.  Others served stateside, with some doing deployments to the Caribbean, or the middle east.

For some their active duty ended in 1972, while others went the distance to retirement.  Some retired from the regular Marine Corps, and others from the Marine Corps Reserve.

The pictures were donated.  Where there are no captions, but if you can personally identify the person or activity shown, send a note to Lcebula@comcast.net.  I will add the information to the captions.

Cheers,

Lusty Leo Cebula, Lieutenant Colonel, USMCR (retired)
